The Landscape Sketchbook is a printable 30-day course in landscape drawing for complete beginners. Learn the basics first, follow one illustrated pencil lesson a day, and work up from your first simple lines to a finished landscape of your own design.

All you need is an HB, 2B and 4B pencil, an eraser and plain paper. Most lessons take a suggested 10–20 minutes.

What's inside: 60 designed pages

• Drawing Foundations (pages 06–12): seven short lessons on seeing shapes, line control, form, the five-value scale, shading, perspective and composition.
• The 30-Day Challenge (pages 13–42): 30 daily lessons in four weekly stages. Each has an objective, a step-by-step demonstration with a finished example, short written steps, a “watch out” tip and a practice area.
• Landscape Reference Library (pages 43–51): reference sheets for mountains, trees, skies, water, and rocks and terrain, plus six composition layouts, twelve scene details, and reusable practice and thumbnail sheets.
• Creative Progress Kit (pages 52–57): a 30-day tracker, weekly reflections, a Day 1 vs Day 30 comparison, a personal project planner, 30 extra prompts for the month after, and a certificate of completion.
• Printing & Digital Use (pages 58–60): a printing guide with a calibration ruler, tips for drawing on a tablet, and your licence.

The four weekly stages

1. Week 1 · Learn to See: lines, shapes, hills, mountains, clouds and your first tree.
2. Week 2 · Build the Landscape: pines, deciduous trees, rocks, rivers, lakes and paths.
3. Week 3 · Add Depth: depth planes, light and shadow, texture and atmosphere.
4. Week 4 · Create Complete Scenes: full compositions and your final landscape.

• Print at home, or open it in any PDF note-taking or drawing app that supports a stylus.
• Personal-use licence: print as many copies as you need for your own practice. Your drawings are yours to keep, gift or sell.
• No physical product is shipped. Pencils, paper and printer are not included.
